Low loss ultrafast recovery

Selection guide

Boost the efficiency

Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) is necessary to reduce disturbance on the AC distribution net. Regulations such as IEC1000-3-2/EN61000-3-2 impose restrictions on Power Factor (PF) and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the power applications like PC. NXP ultrafast diodes help you boost the power efficiency by offering a very low forward voltage together with a very fast reverse recovery.

Key benefits

  • Bring high power efficiency

Key features

  • Low forward voltage for DCM PFC with ultrafast reverse recovery

Key applications

  • Printer power
  • PDP TV power
  • SMPS for PC and servers
  • Switching adaptors
  • LCD TV & Monitor power

Descriptive summary

NXP Ultrafast diodes for DCM PFC
NXP ultrafast diodes are designed to have a very low forward voltage with ultrafast reverse recovery which make our ultrafast diodes most suitable for Discontinuous Current Mode (DCM) PFC. It can remarkably reduce the switching loss and improve the overall power efficiency thanks to it's best-in-class tradeoff between forward voltage and reverse recovery time. Besides, NXP ultrafast diodes also have a very soft recovery which helps to minimize the ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC).
